James T. O'Malley was born in August 1858 in Ireland, the son of James. He immigrated to Canada, possibly Quebec, in 1880-1882, from Galway. He was a day laborer.
He married Nora H. Kenney in 1886. They had ten children in 21 years. The had their first child, Thomas, in Buffalo NY. Their second child, John, was born in St. Paul Minnesota. Their remaining children were all born in Chicago, Illnois. They were Mary Theresa, Agnes Veronica, Nora I., Kathleen, Grace Helen, William Martin and Eileen Gertrude.
By 1910, they had moved to Tacoma, Washington, but also spent a lot of time and possibly lived in Vancouver, British Columbia.
He died on April 25, 1916, in Tacoma, Washington, at the age of 57, and was buried there.
