Fr Robert Joseph Carey known as Fr. Bert was twin brother of Timothy Joseph. His father was a farmer and his mother was a teacher at Coolderry National School. He was ordained at St Patricks College Maynooth on 22/6/1947 and served first in parishes in England and then Lissycasey, Kilmaley, Scariff, Roscrea, Birr, Ogonnelloe and Sixmilebridge where he died as Parish Priest in 1988.
