Rebecca DOHERTY was born 1852-1856 in Cashelshanaghan townland or perhaps Ramelton or Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. A likely birth was registered at the 2nd Presbyterian Church, Ramelton, the parents being Joseph & Margaret (nee DOHERTY) DOHERTY. However, Rebecca's first marriage certificate gives her mother's name as Margaret LEECH.
Rebecca emigrated to New Zealand, possibly in 1878. In November 1880 she married Hamilton QUIN(N), a farmer living at Mauku, south of Auckland city. Rebecca & Hamilton had 4 children who survived into adulthood - Margaret, Robert, Joseph and Annie. Hamilton died in 1892, Annie being born the following day. In 1897 Rebecca married James CRAIG. Rebecca died in 1906.
