My great grandfather, Thomas MaGuigan was born in Ireland but I can not be sure of the location. I am not sure of his date of birth but most likely between 1866-1871.
Thomas could not read and write. His wife, Mary, could.
He died 24 Oct 1937 in Hamilton Scotland. The age listed was 73, making the year of birth 1864. The Informant: Tom Ritchie -- Grand Nephew, but I can not find any info on him. I can not locate where he is buried.
He was married 31 Dec 1897, age listed 28, making year of birth 1869. His wifes, Maryann Donachie (Born 28 Dec 1870 in Mossend Scotland) age was listed as 21.
His fathers name John MaGuigan, Dec'd. Mother Mary Maguigan, maiden name Makay.
On the 1901 Scottish census his age is listed as 30, and on the 1911 census his age was 42.
Based on a jubilee coin dated 1921 he worked as a Steelworker at David Colville & Sons Ltd Dalzell Steel in Motherwell Scotland for 25 years at that point. His wife ran a family store in Motherwell.
