Born 1862, Drombeg, Co.Kerry. Parents- William No(w)lan and Mary Walsh. Arrived in Australia sometime before 1890. Perhaps following his older brother Maurice who had already settled in Australia. Married Bridget Kelly in Melbourne, Victoria, in May 1890. Arrived in Bluff, NZ in 1893 on the Warrimo.
