Does anyone know what his father's name was? Anyone connected to this person through genetic genealogy - dna? Has the person who posted this considered joining the Ryan dna study and associated Gedmatch Ryan Ancestor Project? There are two Facebook pages associated with the Ryan dna studies as well. Also, it is said that where ever there is a Ryan there's a Kennedy! Might want to look at the Kennedy's of Tipperary & Limerick Heritage group site, Gedmatch Ancestor Project, Facebook page too! I am searching for any source as to the parents or place of birth for my 2nd gg Nancy Ryan b.abt. 1800, m. to Edward Kennedy b.abt.1800. lived in Tipperary, several of their sons and a daughter settled in Saranac, Clinton, New York, USA, coming in through Canada.
Patrick Ryan was a miner and married Ellen Power of Dragnan, Tipperary in 1854 in Galena, Illinois. They then moved to nearby Benton, Wisconsin.

Thank you but I am on both Ryan and Kennedy Facebook gedmatch Group. We are getting closer but not there yet. I did try the FAN ( friends, associates, neighbors) strategy and all the witnesses to a will, land transaction, wedding and next door neighbor, to Catherine Ryan ( mother) and son Patrick who live next to each other in Benton, Wisconsin is a Kennedy! Now I need to find evidence!

I have extra information found in a DNA Cousin’s 1940 family research in Ireland. Catherine Ryan was the daughter of Margaret Kinane ( Upper Church, County, Tipperary) and Patrick Ryan ( Reafadda). She married a John Ryan Tobacco. Supposedly they along with the three children, Patrick, second great grandfather and sister, Mary and son, Jeremiah emigrated to the US prior to the Famine along with a sister of Catherine, maybe Bridget who married an unknown Carr. Catherine Ryan’s husband never show up on any Census.
