James Bennett and his wife Elizabeth Sennett (Sinnett) left Roscrae and sailed to New South Wales, arriving in 1842 on the Woodbridge. They left five (possibly 6) of their children behind in Roscrae supposedly in the care of the Parish Priest. The children followed the parents out to Australia in 1848 aboard the Sir Edward Parry arriving on 17 February
James and Elizabeth settled in the Muswellbrook and Scone area of New South Wales. Both are buried in Scone.
