Mike,

I have a connection to Knockainey but don't know of a connection to the Dineen family. Based on Bridget's marriage record her parent's names were John and Mary. I found another Bridget at the time born to John Dinneen and Mary Lonergan in Hospital and Herbertstown, Limerick but she died.

Per RootsIreland, John Dineen and Mary Connolly had at least 8 children (I did not find Ann)- Johanna 1866 (maybe Ann), Edmond 1869, Mary 1971, James 1873, Bridget 1877, Catherine 1880, Margaret 1882 (born Kilmallock Workhouse), Edmond 1884 (Ballygrennan, Limerick).

John was an agricultural laborer and it looks like in 1901 John 60, Mary 55, Edmond 16, and grandson Daniel 7 are living in Milltown, Knockaineyl Limerick.

A RootsIreland record shows John Dineen of Millstown died in 1915, age 78 of Bronchitis. A Catherine Dinneen was present. He was a widower. Mary died in 1912 in Millstown age 68 of bronchitis. Grandson Daniel present.

There was a John Dineen born in Knockainey July5, 1938, parents Edmond Dineen and Johanna Dineen. All there other children show Johanna Dineen as mother. Must be her maiden name. I did not find a marriage record but the oldest child listed on Roots was baptised in 1821.

FYI- John Dineen, a tailor, and Mary Lonergan had the following children recorded on RootsIreland- Ann 1861, NR 1863, Edmond/ Edward 1865, John 1865, Ellen 1870, Margaret 1872, Patrick 1874, Bridget 1876, Johanna/ Honora 1878, Michael 1881, Bridget 1884 ( Ancestry trees suggest she married a Patrick Carroll. Most of them have the incorrect 1876 birthdate). John Dineen, the tailor, died in 1902, age 60, in Herbertstown, witnessed by his son Patrick. The oldest son identified through baptismal records was Edmond so he might have connected to Edmond Dineen, the smith, who died in 1890. They were both tradesman.

Mary I almost made it to Ireland! We family (group of 6) were planning a trip this coming fall 2022. But sadly our brother in law came down with stage 4 lung cancer. Which put plans on hold!

I am sorry to hear about your brother-in-law and that your trip was cancelled. My husband and I have gone to Ireland twice, 2003 and 2019. I callled my 2019 trip 'My Family Heritage Trip'. All of my grandparents came from Ireland and I have been researching where they lived since 2000. Ireland Reaching Out message board and other sources have helped me in my research.

In 2019, I had contacts in every location who provided family history and showed family homesteads, churches, and cemeteries. Everyone we met in Ireland were very friendly and generous with their time.

I connect to Knockainey through my Raleigh family. In the early 1800s, they were living in Emly, Tipperary but since 1777 they have been buried in St. John Cemetery in Old Knockainey, most in unmarked graves, found on Historicgraves website. In the 1600s they were living in Raleighstown, Limerick, close to Lough Gur. Since they were Catholic, Cromwell tookover their home and land so they had to resettle. Maybe, some ended up in Knockainey??

I hope you get to reschedule your trip. Ireland is a beautiful country.

I just realized we were in contact in 2020. Elizabeth Raleigh was buried in the area in 1852. If you have other names to share, I would be interested. That said, I don't want to distract from Wojo54 research. Do you connect to his family?
