John WILKINSON I was born about 1726 in Ireland either County Down or Tyrone. He came to America about 1733 with a brother William, who was older & an Uncle maybe an Aunt.. Most of the info we have about him came from William Amel Sausaman, 1 jul 1971 Springfield, IL, Descendants of Irish Immigrant John Wilkinson (1726-1806).

I have done a lot of research on John & most of his children. He was married 2 x's & names 2 sons "John" (they both lived & one used John N). He also named a son "Jehu", which some people in court records wrote as "John". John I had 16 children by these 2 wives. They are all proved in 2 different Louisana probate records of his sons Jehu Guthrie WILKINSON & Samuel WILKINSON who both died in St Mary's Parish.

During my research John WILKINSON I, oldest son William went to Duplin & New Hanover Co, NC He was living with a Robert WILKINSON. I believe this Robert WILKINSON was related. This Robert WILKINSON had a brother Thomas, William & sister Elizabeth. I did quite a bit of research on these people trying to find a relationship between the 2 different families Thomas had a son John that was living some where in PA at the same time as our John! William never married or had children, but left a very good WILL in New Hanover. This Robert & William's sister Elizabeth married Archibald McLAINE. Archibald McLAINE & William WILKINSON had a business together.William had a Distillery & there is an Alley in Wilmington, NC named for him.

Hoping DNA will prove relationships with any of these people & where in Ireland John & his family came from. I am sure they are of English descent, as WILKINSON is not Irish. Florenc Moore  - fdmoore38@gmail.com
