Thomas the son of Robert and Johanna Costello (nee Savage) is my 2nd Great Grandfather he immigrated to Australia circa 1860. He met my 2nd Great Grandmother Elizabeth Hussey who had immigrated to Australia in 1863 on the "Champion of the Seas" with her sister in law Margaret Hussey's (nee McCarthy) sister Honoria McCarthy, they were 18 yrs old. They married on 8 March, 1864 in Heathcote, Victoria where Elizabeth's brother John Hussey had settled with his family. The witnesses to their wedding were Timothy Murphy and Honoria Murphy (nee McCarthy).

Thomas and Elizabeth moved to Sale, Victoria where they Dairy farmed and raised 8 children until their deaths - Thomas died on 6 Dec 1888 at Thomson River, Warruk, Warruk Parish, Gippsland, Victoria of "Chronic fatty degeneration of the heart", he was 65 yrs old, Francis Tierney, Roman Catholic Priest was with him when he died.  Thomas left assets of 2,332 pounds, consisting of Allotment 101 E Parish of Warruk, Warruk, which had a 4 room dwelling house constructed of Tea Tree slabs, iron and bark, with outbuildings constructed of slab and bark valued at 2,000 pounds, a dwelling house in Raglan Street, Sale valued at 100 pounds and the rest of the estate were cows and calves.  Elizabeth and his son Robert were executors of his will..

Elizabeth died at Sale, Victoria, 6 years later on 22 October, 1894 of Pneumonia, she was 47 years old, James Lynott, Roman Catholic Priest was with her when she died. Elizabeth left an estate of 252 pounds, consisting of the Raglan Street house, valued at 140 pounds and 112 pounds in the bank. Edward Dowd, Cattle Dealer, John Cullinan, Stationer and her son Thomas were the executors.
