Mary Maher’s parents were Edmund Maher and Mary Boland, who married on Oct. 24, 1833 and had 6 children: Michael (1834); William (1836); Mary (1839); Hannah (1842); Edmund (1946); and John (1848). The father Edmund was from Boherlahan Dualla and the mother Mary from Ballaghboy.
The family lived on the Noan estate near Ballinure in Tipperary.
Mary immigrated alone to the US in 1856, met and married James Tracey (also from Tipperary) about 1863, and had 7 children. She died in 1919 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.
Staying in Ireland, her brother William married Mary Skehan in 1870, and her sister Hannah married Denis McCarthy in 1868.
