My GG grandmother Mary Hanrahan was born 1834 [going by her marriage and death certificate] in Tipperary, Ireland. Mary married William Samuel Smith on the 21/11/1858 at Mount Blackwood, Victoria, Australia, she died on the 12th October 1894 in Hotham, Victoria. On Mary's death certificate it stated that she was born in Tipperary, Ireland and had lived in Victoria, Australia for 40 years. Mary's parents were Michael Hanrahan[farmer] and Mary Holloran?? Mary and William had six children all born in Blackwood excepting for the last child Michael born in Greendale. William Joseph b.1860,Emma b.1861, Mary Helen b.1863 John Thomas b. 1865, Edward Samuel b. 1867, Michael Hanrahan b. 1868.
They lived in Blackwood, Victoria and both Mary and William are buried in the Blackwood Cemetery.
