John lived in Drumtarsna and later in Liss with his wife Margaret Flannery. Children were baptised in the Catholic Parish of Borrisoleigh: WIlliam (about 1810), Mary (about 1811), James (about 1813), John (Drumtarsna, 29 Nov 1814), Anne (Liss, late Nov 1816), Catherine (Liss, 24 Jul 1818) and Dan (Liss, 22 Jan 1822). William and Margaret's son James erected a headstone in the Glenkeen Cemetery stating that John had died on 22 May 1833 and Margaret died 13 November 1824. Land records (Tithe Aplotments) show John occupied land in Drumtarsna and Liss in the early 1830s. By the time of Griffiths Valuation, his sons are shown as occupying land in both areas.
