/His parents were Thomas McGinnis and Francis Cunningham.  He had at least 2 sisters, Bridget (b. 1812), Ann (b. 1814) and perhaps a sister named Francis.  He had at least 3 brothers Daniel (b. 1819), Thomas (b. 1829), and James (b. 1831).    They migrated to Canada sometime before 1847 because his sister Bridget marris Dennis Long in Kemptville, Canada Jan. 6, 1848.  The family migrates to Wisconsin sometime before 1850, as they are in the 1850 Census in Menasha, Winnebago, Wisconsin.   Michael and his wife, Mary Ryan McGinnis are not found in the census, as they may have been traveling or working on the canals, and their daughter Johanna was born in New York in about 1848.  A son Thomas was born in Wisconsin in 1851 and he purchased land in 1853 in Outagamie County, Wisconsin. 

   Michael married Mary Ryan in Templemore Parish, listing their town as Skehana.  They had at least 1 child in Ireland who died and perhaps another who died at sea.
