Johanna ("Annie"), 16, and her sister Winifred, 18, arrived in Sydney, Australia on the John Knox 29 April 1850. The were selected from the Cashel workhouse to emigrate to Australia under what became known as the Earl Grey Scheme (1848-50). Their father, John, was dead and their mother, Bridget, was living at Cashel. Bridget was in Sydney by April 1853.
